SunDay is a global day of action on September 21st, 2025, celebrating the unstoppable rise of clean energy. On Sun Day, we’re celebrating the power of clean energy from the sun. We're showing the world that clean energy works and are encouraging the expansion of solar energy across the commonwealth.Do you have questions about adding solar to your home or business? Do you wonder about storage batteries to add resilience to your home? Do you have questions about electric vehicles? We can walk you through actual installations to help answer your questions with information and workshops. Activities include tours of the Extension Office's solar PV and battery back-up system, a solar-powered campervan, solar-powered portable refrigeration trailer, as well as electric vehicles will be on display. We'll have podcasters from Progress Kentucky on hand who will be broadcasting through the power of the sun!

    2:15pm - Introduction to Solar PV and Battery Systems - David Gomez, Daily Green Power LLC
    Including a tour of the Extension Office's 68 KW solar PV system and four Tesla Powerwall batteries.

  • 3:15pm - A Net-Zero, Passive Solar Renovation of an 1880's-era Farmhouse - Andy McDonald, Apogee - Climate & Energy Transitions
