A Community Taking Action
Speaking Out on Data Centers
We want to thank all of the citizens that came out last week to a community listening session on Data Centers, held at the Capitol Annex in Frankfort, hosted by Rep. Adam Moore. In all our years, there are few issues we can recall that brought communities from all over the state to express their voice. Nearly 100 Kentuckians turned up, coming from 18 different counties. It was great to see citizens from many of the communities where we have been working locally to bring attention to this important issue. KCC is working with lawmakers on helping to shape future proposed legislation to address these community concerns.
You can watch the full video of the listening session here.

Public Comments Needed: Two Actions
The Trump administration is allowing public comments until Oct. 9 on a “supplemental” rule to redefine federally protected Waters of the United States under the Clean Water Act. It’s an action the EPA said would allow it to “evaluate a wider range of options” following a 2023 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that severely curtailed the federal government’s ability to regulate water pollution over certain types of wetlands.
It’s the second time the EPA is collecting public comments on the proposal. More here. and Submit Comments Here.
Also…. Comments on “Roadless Rule”: The U.S. Forest Service and USDA proposed rescinding the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule, which affects roughly 44 to 58.5 million acres of national forest lands, including lands in Kentucky. Regulations.gov Comment Portal before the deadline ends on October 6.. Background details on the USFS Roadless Areas Page.
